When I came to see Siobhan, I felt I had got stuck going round in circles for a bit too long, ruminating on various things that had gone wrong and feeling rather confused as to what had happened and what to do next. Siobhan helped to lift the boulder off me, drain the wounds and clear the debris. As a result of our sessions, I feel much more clear-headed and like I’ve got more perspective on events. I’ve felt strong enough to get myself back into shape physically and have been able to take practical steps to address the things that have been bothering me mentally and emotionally in my personal and professional life. I have really appreciated being able to talk things through with Siobhan and her understanding, empathy and firm, clear, practical guidance. I feel I understand myself better as a result and am better able to navigate around and, as necessary, deal with life’s sometimes inevitable ups and downs. Thank you Siobhan!

Choosing the right therapist can feel like such a hard decision but after the first session with Dr Siobhan McCarthy several months ago I knew I’d struck gold. With honesty, compassion, practicality and the highest form of professionalism, Siobhan has helped me navigate issues around long-term anxiety and enabled me to view and live my life through a fresh lens. Opening up to someone is never a walk in the park but after just several sessions, I began to feel lighter - an emotional and physical release from Siobhan’s help re-framing the thinking and behavioral patterns that were restricting me on a daily basis. Sessions with Siobhan proved an invaluable, judgment-free space to work through issues and her lovely sense of humour (something I never expected from ‘therapy’) really helped take the fear out of fear and anxiety. Siobhan is, quite simply, top of her game and I’d recommend her to anyone thinking of seeking help. Truly life-changing. Thank you, Siobhan.

I have had psychotherapy in the past but not for a few years. The first few months of this year were really tough for me and I was having a hard time balancing the demands of a very ill parent, young children, work...and keeping myself level. I had heard about Dr McCarthy through a family member and I am so very glad I contacted her. She has a results driven approach - very focussed and practical while also being warm, receptive and empathetic. At the first session we made a list of my goals for the course of appointments and Siobhan would refer to these regularly throughout treatment to make sure we stayed on track. We actually achieved the desired outcomes earlier than expected and Siobhan suggested we didn't need the final session we had booked in. I was so impressed with her abilities. I have had some real lightbulb moments and feel now have a lot of new skills and coping mechanisms to get through the tough times, as well as a much deeper insight into the history behind my own thoughts and reactions as well as those of my nearest and dearest. I cannot recommend Dr McCarthy enough if you are having any kind of struggle - work or personal. She will be straight with you at all times, and will guide you and push you to make connections for yourself rather than letting you visit her endlessly without feeling you have actually resolved anything. She is extremely wise and I hope she finds the time to write a book around some of her most insightful observations about how humans function and interact with each other and society as a whole as I think the world could really benefit from her wisdom.

I had severe post natal anxiety after the birth of my first son and was lucky enough to find Dr McCarthy when I really needed her. She has helped me through some very difficult times with compassion, empathy, professionalism and practical advice. I am out the other side now and am so grateful to Siobhan for being a large part of my recovery (alongside other treatments). PND is a very difficult illness so having someone with experience in this area really helps. Luckily we were able to use health insurance through my husband's work to cover the cost and it was really easy to do so (via Aviva). Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend working with Siobhan. She is very thorough, clear sighted and practical. She helped me work through some long standing issues, gain much needed perspective in some areas and helped me relax and be more accepting of things I cannot change. She is very responsive and accommodating with regard to appointments. I feel confident moving forward now but I know a sympathetic ear will always be there should I need it again.

I have found Siobhan invaluable as a therapist, she has provided me with enlightening council and effective tools to handle life's daily obstacles and to move away from anxious and low tendencies. I have seen a real change in myself thanks to Dr McCarthy's affable and grounded approach; she has facilitated more positive mental and practical behaviours that I will continue to apply moving forwards. I cannot recommend Siobhan highly enough.

I can't recommend Dr Siobhan highly enough. I wasn't sure what to expect but over the course of 3 months the transformation has been incredible. I understood that I had one or two issues which I didn't know or understand how to deal with and move forward. It's not short of a complete 180 for me in terms of my outlook on life and how I handle situations. Thank you

I cannot recommend Dr Siobhan McCarthy highly enough. She was brilliant at helping me see my way through a difficult time in my life and giving me the tools to help me in the future. I had never been to a therapist before and was unsure as to what to expect. She put me at my ease straight away and encouraged me throughout the process to think about dealing with situations in my life in a different way which was extremely helpful. Thank you!

I saw Siobhan after having my first baby. I had a whole load of feelings and baggage that I needed help working through. She was so helpful and nonjudgmental and gave me the tools and the space I needed to process all my feelings. I highly recommend her. Thank you Siobhan.

I have been having sessions with Siobhan regularly over the past few months. Visiting a psychologist has been something i’ve been wishing to do for many years but have always found an excuse to delay. After my first session I realised my fears had been ungrounded and I walked away feeling positive about our next meeting. Prior to seeing Siobhan I often felt at the mercy of my emotions and was struggling specifically with asserting myself at work and my relationship with my father. Now I feel I can accept situations, relationships and people for what they are and I also master my behaviour at work resulting in greatly improved performance. Siobhan was at all times; warm, reasoning and non-judgemental. Many thanks
